Tischler House is situated in the heart of The Cotswolds on The Cotswold Water Park’s Long Mill estate. However, being a modern-style lake house, it’s certainly not typically Cotswold in style.
We were tasked with a total refurbishment and extension, including the pool area. This was a fun and challenging project that involved reconfiguring a house that was only built 20 years ago but needed two small extensions, a new staircase and a total reimagining of its floor plan.
COVID restrictions also meant we had to totally project manage everything – coordinating with a client who was unable to visit regularly, collaborating remotely with their talented interior designer and also making good use of our little black book of contacts.
One particularly challenging aspect of the project was that there is no mains gas on the Lower Mill Estate. LPG is an expensive solution, so instead we installed an air source heat pump. This sustainable technology uses the heat from the air to heat the water and heating system. So, it heats the pool in the summer and the house in the winter.
